PENNSYLVANIA SOLAR ADVANTAGE
Your solar system can produce more than electricity.
Eligible Pennsylvania solar systems may generate Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) based on qualifying solar production — creating a potential source of value beyond your monthly energy savings. SRECs may be sold separately, allowing your system to produce more than electricity.
Eligibility, production, SREC market value, net metering credits, and program availability are not guaranteed and are subject to change. Consult a qualified professional regarding incentives applicable to your situation.

Do you service solar systems installed by other companies?
Yes. Genesis Solar services many systems installed by other companies. If your system is underperforming, has storm damage, microinverter failures, or your original installer is no longer in business, our team can assess and service your system.
What solar incentives are available in Pennsylvania and West Virginia?
Pennsylvania: Eligible systems may generate Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) based on qualifying production. Net metering programs may allow utility bill credits for excess electricity sent to the grid. Program availability and terms vary by utility and are subject to change. West Virginia: Available incentives and utility programs vary by project type, utility, equipment, and current law. Genesis Solar will identify programs that may apply to your project during the proposal process.
How do Pennsylvania SRECs work?
Pennsylvania's SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Credit) program allows eligible solar system owners to earn credits based on qualifying electricity production. These credits can be sold to utilities and energy suppliers that are required to meet renewable energy standards. SREC values fluctuate based on market conditions and are not guaranteed. Genesis Solar will explain how SRECs may apply to your system during your proposal review.
What happens if my solar system needs service?
Genesis Solar provides ongoing service and support after installation. If your system experiences a performance issue, equipment failure, or storm damage, contact our team directly. We service both Genesis Solar installations and systems installed by other companies throughout our service area.
Can I add battery storage to my solar system?
Yes. Genesis Solar designs and installs battery storage systems alongside new solar installations or as a standalone addition to existing systems. Battery storage can store excess solar energy for later use and, when properly configured with backup equipment, may provide power for selected loads during an outage. Our team will assess your energy needs and recommend the right storage solution for your property.
Is my roof suitable for solar?
Most roofs can support solar, but suitability depends on factors including roof age, pitch, orientation, shading, and structural condition. Genesis Solar conducts a thorough site assessment before recommending a system. If your roof needs attention before installation, our team will advise you on next steps.
